Incredible view

Pros: The view is incredible And as a lover of Danish furniture I loved the lounge area Appreciated the originality of the old hotel

Cons: Staff at breakfast not very friendly but at front desk they are lovely Nothing else about the hotel Loud guests who dominate the room in big group tours make dining not so pleasant

Iconic hotel in Stalheim. Perfect place to break your Oslo to Bergen Norway in a Nutshell journey and rest for a night.

Pros: Iconic hotel in Stalheim, with stunning views. We stayed one night to break our Oslo to Bergen Norway in a Nutshell trip, and it was a great decision. There are several hiking trails nearby with views of waterfalls.

Cons: The a la carte menu for dinner was quite limited.

Charming with spectacular views.

Pros: Charming, old fashioned, and full of character. The view was spectacular and it was very peaceful when the coaches left. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Complementary tea and coffee for guests in the lounge, which you can take outside to enjoy the view and fresh air. Well worth getting a room looking over the gorge. We slept with the curtains open to soak it all in. Really lovely buffet dinner and breakfast. So glad we stopped off for a night on our Norway in a nutshell tour - otherwise it would have just been a 15minute stop.

Cons: Nothing! But we did avoid downstairs and outside when the coaches arrived (but they were quickly gone again).

Pros: In terms of location, it is close to Flåm and is a nice hotel nestled among the mountains. It has a scenic and pleasant lobby seating area and a restaurant. There are walking trails around it.

Cons: The rooms are old and in need of renovation.

Fabulous Location and ambience

Pros: This was the highlight of our trip- I’d go back here in a heartbeat anytime!! Lovely!!

Cons: I would have liked the bistro to be open later - and one morning on our stay a tourist was screaming outside our window. I was sort of shocked that the terrace is open even at 6am to people and also that this lady had no common sense and was so loud.
