Fleischer's Hotel

Pros: This hotel is quite unique, it takes you back in time thanks to the style and decoration. It was interesting to see all the paintings of the founders and their family members, the old menus and the important achievements during history. The staff was very friendly, rooms were clean and the live lovely music was a plus! Also a bonus - discount to the cable car (Voss Gondol) and free parking. There are many things to see and get absorbed by in this hotel, I definitely recommend it!

Cons: The baby pool water was too cold (it’s part of the main pool with a grid in between).

One of the oldest hotels in Norway definitely has a special charm to it and the location is great!

Pros: One of the oldest hotels in Norway definitely has a special charm to it. The location right at the train station and next to the gondola lift is excellent. Friendly service and a good breakfast. The swimming pool and jacuzzi sounded nice, but I didn't have time to test them this time.

Cons: The cleanliness and soundproofing of the room could be better. My room was above the bar, so the thumping of the music and guest conversations could be heard in the early night. Understandably, as it's an old hotel. The reception kindly provided me with earplugs. There were dark hairs in the bathroom (I have fair hair) and a snus bag under one of the mattresses (I always do a bedbug check on arrival. There were noi signs here.)

Wonderful historic hotel

Pros: We greatly enjoyed our stay with two small children. Access to the property is very convenient as it is directly from the train platform yet we were not disturbed by any train noise and slept very well. The room was very clean and the beds were comfortable. The hotel itself is beautiful and historic. We especially enjoyed breakfast with a lake view which was varied and fresh. We also dined at the hotel every evening and the food was tasty—particularly the cod and the beef bourguignon. We used the sauna jacuzzi and pool. The pool felt slightly cool but very refreshing after the sauna. The children did not mind at all and had a great time swimming. The staff were very kind and helpful and thanks to them we had a truly lovely stay.

Great ski break, hotel with loads of character, friendly staff excellent location.

Pros: The staff were all very friendly and helpful, we enjoyed breakfast and dinner, the open fire and the characterful surroundings in the hotel. Great location if arriving by train and next to the gondola for access to the slopes. Mrs Fleischer gave us an interesting account of her families generational ownership history which was a lovely personal touch.

Very Classic and charming.

Pros: Likes: Classic charming style of the hotel, both exterior and interior. Cosy bar. The Family Room is nice and spacious. Bed is very comfortable. Breakfast buffet was okay.

Cons: Didn't like: In the room, the electrical wiring was messing, with cable tied up to another loose cable that does not seems to connect to anything (must be from the old appliances/connections). In the shower, there is only a small glass partition without shower curtain, so the whole toilet floor gets wet as well. Theres only a few tv channels, mainly NRK.

Pros: I loved the location , it’s peaceful and surrounded by beautiful nature, yet just a short walk from the train station. The hotel’s charming design and classic style made the stay feel very special and relaxing.

Cons: I felt uncomfortable with the housekeeping system. Even though I had the “Do Not Disturb” sign on the door and it wasn’t my check-out day yet, a staff member still knocked on my door. It seemed like the housekeeping team was pressuring guests to leave early, which felt unwelcoming. I stayed alone in a single room as a solo female traveler, and having someone knock unexpectedly made me feel quite uneasy and unsafe. The door doesn’t have a peephole, so it would be better if staff could call the room first or ensure better communication between the reception and housekeeping teams.

Pros: Old old hotel we loved the history.. GREAT STAFF AND FOOD.

Cons: Our room was over the train station. It was noisy. The bath was dangerous to use. The sauna was not working.
