Strand Fjordhotel

Beautiful location looking out on the fjord.

Pros: The location was fabulous. Breakfast was very good. The staff was friendly and welcoming.

Cons: I wish the sauna was included in the price of the room.

Pros: great location on the fjord, didn't have time for the sauna

Pros: The breakfast is great. The location is good and quiet. The room is clean and tidy. The staff are polite.

Cons: A bit better if the room or bed can be larger. But it is already good. The scene outside the room is really beautiful.

Strand Fjordhotel

Pros: * Spacious room and shower; * Plenty of hot water in the shower; * A lot's of spaces outside.

Cons: * Bathroom could be improved, but functioned perfectly even in the current state; * Food was a bit of issue: in the evening the side dish which we got, was not exactly thta what was on the menu; the tomatoes were sour, watermelon for the breakfast was sour too (?!). * It was a hot day and night when we overnight there, AC would be of great help. But actually many hotels in Norway do not have AC.

Pros: The hotel is situated in Ulvik, a small but really cute town, perfect for relaxing but also close enough to other touristic attractions. The staff was extremely kind and helpful, we also enjoyed a really good dinner at the hotel restaurant.

Lovely location and wonderful team.

Pros: Stunning location, lovely staff. Nice food in restaurant, and perfect terrace for a drink. Rooms clean and comfortable. Kayaks and other water sports equipment to hire.

Cons: Looks a little tired in places but not enough to detract from the stay.

1 night stay while in fjordtours programme

Pros: Simple breakfast with all essentials to start the day. Hotel is not new but in perfect conditions for 2 to 3 night stay if you wan to explore the region. Standing by the fjord you really can enjoy the silence and admire the landscape all around. Room had a balcony which is perfect for relaxing and listening to the sounds of nature. The unit is ran by very nice and gentle people that make you feel that you're visiting your own family's countryside cottage.

Very peaceful, fantastic remote location.

Pros: Right on the water, good size rooms, very relaxing.

Cons: Cannot store bicycles in your room.

Hotel with the most beautiful view in a stunning location

Pros: I absolutely loved my room on the ground floor. There's a door out to the terrace with your own table and chairs and the view is just stunning. The reason I chose this hotel was all about the view, and it didn't disappoint! There are steps down from the terrace into the water and you can basically just step out of your room and into the fjord for a swim, which was fantastic. The hotel also rents kayaks, a rowing boat and a pedalo for very reasonable prices. They have bikes for hire too. The room itself was comfortable and quiet. To wake up to that wonderful view was just unbeatable! The staff were always around and very helpful with any questions. You don't need a car to get to this amazing location in the fjord - I arrived by public transport from Bergen by bus and ferry - a fantastic experience in itself. The hotel is also close to the Fruit and Cider route... you can easily take a walk from there to visit the producers and farm shops, and have a tasting experience.

Pros: The staff at the hotel were extremely courteous and helpful. We reached the hotel a little late in the evening and the restaurant kitchen was closed but they offered us some quick bites upon request so that we wouldn't sleep hungry. Breakfast was good. A nice blend of English+Norwegian breakfast. It would have been nice if we had options for hot breakfast (like fried eggs, omlette, pan cakes etc). Location was amazing! The view from our room was breathtakingly beuatiful.
