Beautiful View!
Pros: Amazing view from anywhere, inside or outside the hotel. The view from my room was beautiful. The whole decoration of the hotel was also intriguing, giving viking vibes. Food was okay, not bad and not amazing either.
Cons: The building itself seemed a little old, making cracking sounds here and there while walking. There was also no elevator, so I had to take all the bags up to the third floor, even if the staff helped a little, it was still not ideal.

Comfortable Stay
Pros: Lovely view Breakfast and dinner were good Plenty of room Plenty of hot water Old building but we really liked its charm
Cons: No lift Don’t like dogs in eating area. Even though the dog was not in the dining room but just in next area I still don’t like it

This is a good place to relax and send a few days.
Pros: The view just in front of the hotel is spectacular. I did not need to hike 4hrs or 12 hrs to see the waterfall or mountains in front of the hotel and outside my window. There are a few viewing platforms near and in front of the hotel. The hotel has an old world charm. The staff are helpful and friendly.
Cons: The items in my standard room are very basic. There’s no kettle, no fridge, insufficient surfaces or hooks to put or hang things.

Superb location
Pros: Excellent location! Beautiful view! Located next to Voringsfossen!
Cons: Even though it is a historical hotel, more can be done to spruce up the hotel - rooms and restaurant.

A magical place full of charm, history, and heart — I felt truly welcomed and can’t wait to return.
Pros: Fossli Hotel is a true gem with a deep soul and unmatched location — perched above Vøringsfossen with views over the canyon and waterfalls. The building is full of history and charm, with elegant common spaces, beautiful woodwork, and a quiet, almost exclusive atmosphere. Watching crowds pass by from the comfort of the guest-only lounge with a glass of cognac in hand felt like a luxury experience. The rooms are spotless and full of Norwegian character. I felt deeply welcomed by the owner Erik and his right hand Robert — their kindness and warm memory of my previous visits moved me deeply. Dining was excellent, and everything — from the setting to the mood — was perfect.
Cons: There was truly nothing that bothered me. If I had to suggest anything, it would be to slightly adjust the shower curtain layout in room 24 — water tended to splash beyond the shower area, and an L-shaped curtain rail might help. Also, while the dining room staff were friendly and kind, it was clear some of them weren’t trained in fine restaurant service etiquette — understandable, but noticeable in such a refined setting. These are very minor things and did not affect the joy of staying here.

Old world charm in a mind-blowing location
Pros: The atmosphere in the hotel is very special because it is old (opened in 1891) but has undergone major loving refurbishment in the 50s. The place breathes history and staying there was an awesome experience. It is anything but a run-off-the-mill stylish ski resort hotel! It has lots of old world charm and quirkyness. We absolutely adored the place: Think Thomas Mann's 'The Magic Mountain' and you are getting close.
Cons: The breakfast was perfectly ok but a bit sparse. This might be a Norwegian thing, we had the same experience in other places.
