Lunheim in Geiranger

Pros: Very nice location! From the kitchen window you could see beautiful Geiranger fjord, amazing! A clean, quite and cozy room. The owner, Ian was very kind who told us a lot of stories about how to make local food, very interesting! There are many utensils, coffee and tea in the kitchen for people.

Cons: Nothing.

Pros: The location was perfect, Only a few hundred meters away from the ferry. And you can enjoy the awesome view of Geiranger. The room was awesomely quiet, clean, warm and cozy. Also the owner was super hospitable, he shared a superb route for us to explore and the couple are really friendly. The living room and kitchen has floor heating system and the bedroom has a radiator. There is also a supermarket nearby and you can cook with the clean kitchen stuff.

Cons: As the information shows, the bathroom and toilet is outside the room, a few steps away. So be prepared to accept it. It didn't cause too much trouble, though. Above all, it's a great stay.

Pros: The view from the shared kitchen was spectacular. We had a comfortable room with a view to the mountainside and partial view to the fjord.

Great place to stop

Pros: Location is outside of the village, about 3 km up! However the views were great and the owner is happy to shuttle up and down to the ferry or bus. The kitchen is well equipped and our room (Room 1) was large and airy.

The best location for the view of Geiranger Fjord

Pros: The room was clean, spacious, and very comfortable. The bathroom was also large and spotless. The kitchen had everything you could possibly need, and cooking there felt just like being at home. Our stay at Lunheim was a lovely experience. I’d recommend it to anyone looking for comfort, breathtaking views, and a warm, welcoming host.

Cons: I didn’t realise when booking that the kitchen was shared between three rooms. Fortunately, there was only one other couple staying at the same time, and they left early the next morning, so it wasn’t a major issue. As it happened, we finished using the kitchen and returned to our room just as the other couple came out to use it—perfect timing. I understand that some people really value their privacy, and I probably would have preferred a private kitchen myself. If I had known in advance that it was shared, I might have reconsidered. That said, I’m genuinely glad we stayed at Lunheim. The manager was incredibly friendly and full of local knowledge and information—especially for guests who have time to chat. We were on a tight schedule and unfortunately had to cut the conversation short, which made us feel a bit bad, as he was clearly enthusiastic and generous with his time.

Pros: The view was spectacular from the dining/kitchen area. The rooms were roomy with large on suites, comfy beds, and meal was exceptional with the bonus of being highly entertained by our host, who was extremely knowledgeable of the area.

Cons: Lugging the luggage up the stairs but absolutely doable!

Gorgeous location, comfortable rooms and helpful owners.

Pros: Absolutely gorgeous location, of course. My room and the kitchen had beautiful views of the valley & fjord. The bed & furnishings in the room were comfortable, the curtains very effective, and the shower was so nice and warm, with good pressure and no leakage onto the floor! The hosts were very lovely and helpful - they went above & beyond for me and provided a lot of information about the area. The breakfast was also yummy with fresh bread, jam, and a selection of cheese/meats, yogurt & fruit.

Cons: Not necessarily a negative, but just good to be aware that the property is about a 40 minute walk from the cruise terminal, so if you’re walking you just need to consider that. I didn’t manage my time effectively enough, and so the owner (Ian) offered to drive me to the terminal for a small fee.

Pros: Our room was nice and cozy. The kitchen is very well organized and has a lot of equipment. We stayed only for one night, but would defenitely come back to this booking if ever returning.

Super friendly and helpful management, great views of Geiranger

Pros: Fantastic views of Geiranger, very warm and welcoming couple managing the property and providing plenty of local tips. Even offered to put some food together when we arrived late in the evening. Room and shared kitchen (fantastic view) had everything we needed.

Cons: Bed mattress slightly soft
