A traveler’s dream

Pros: Wonderful location next to the fjord, very quiet. A property with a soul, with its ancient furniture and decoration. The owner and the staff are extremely forthcoming and helpful - and the dining is excellent.

Pros: Great location, by the fjord ，you can see the fjord view from the room. The hotel has a beautiful garden where you can also enjoy the magnificent view. It is easy to drive from here to Nigardsbreen.

Super lovely hotel to calm down

Pros: Maybe one of the best hotels we ever had in Norway. Try the restaurant and eat there as often as often as you can! The breakfast are also super good. Just stay here, enjoy the silence and the nature and read a book. Wish we had stayed more nights here. We will came back!

Great cosy yet spectacular hotel

Pros: Fantastic hotel. Well situated. Cosy. Very nice hosts. Excellent food.

Cons: Could benefit from some refurbishing but overall very very nice.

Pros: Very special, peaceful historic place. Rooms are rather basic, but fine.

Good stay in the vicinity of a glacier national park.

Pros: Cozy vibe of a traditional old hotel, nice selection at breakfast

Cons: Elevator is not there because the building is pretty old, so make sure to book accordingly or pack light :

Characterful, historic hotel in a great location. Very friendly and helpful staff/owners.

Pros: Wow, what a characterful and historic place! We really enjoyed our stay. The views from our balcony (& big windows in the room) towards the fjord were lovely. Breakfast was very good. We can recommend the nearby cafe (also run by the hotel), where we had delicious afternoon tea/coffee and home-made cakes, and also an excellent evening meal of Thai curry! The hotel has only recently been taken over by a new owner and new staff & we wish them all the best. They were so friendly and gave us lots of helpful information about the area, and also about Norwegian life.

Pros: Staff and owner were amazing. They were helpful and always available and willing to make our stay the best possible. The old hotel has charm and is in a beautiful location to relax. The breakfast is delicious with a great variety of options. They have Kayaks for rent, which was a great way to enjoy the spectacular scenery, just steps from the hotel. Cons: As the hotel has just recently been opened again with new owners after being closed for 2 years, the owners are doing their utmost to make it as comfortable as possible. The room is simple, extremely clean, and with a modern bathroom. We recommended having reading lights next to the beds, and they were happy to get feedback and thought it was a good suggestion as the lighting was weak if someone wanted to read at night. This is the only negative I found!
