Klingenberg Hotel - Årdal

I would recommend this hotel. The bar, dining room, menu, location are all very good. Pretty area!

Pros: The alpine theme and history was interesting. Very good breakfast. The room decor was a little bit older style but it was fine. Prices seem high in Norway, even during the low season.

Cons: There was nobody at the reception desk and it took us about 15 minutes to get the attention of anyone. We were given a room the furthest down the hallways with no view, whereas I think the hotel was not fully booked and they could have given us a room with a nicer view and not so far down the hall.

Pros: The location was great, by the fjord, away from the town centre so very quiet. Lovely food, breakfast and dinner. A very comfortable, clean room.

Amazing seaside hotel stay in Årdal

Pros: The location, breakfast (included) and dinner. Was clean, by the water, and not pricey.

Cons: The restaurant staff could have been a bit more friendly.

Pros: This was a very nice experience, the hotel is a bit old, but very well kept! Big room very comfy bed, with kettle and fridge. Really nice dinner (grilled buffet, amazing!) with a DJ that went on all night, but the room was well insulated and slept like a log! The view is amazing and excellent for a stroll! Early breakfast which was nice!

Pros: The hotel has several good points, including hotel is quiet and clean, location is convenient, shower water is strong enough, have free parking space beside the hotel, and staff are friendly and helpful. However, the space of bath room is small, and it is need to have some hook for hanging bath towel.

Good location, warm rooms.

Pros: Good location beside fjord. Free parking and very close to the food shop. There is also restaurant in the first floor. We were in January and rooms were warm with possibility to change temperature, even these were Norwegian vintage radiators. There is bath in the bathroom, TV and coffeemaker in the rooms and WiFi all around. Relatively soft madrass. Pictures of the surrounding mountains and fjord on the walls. The breakfast was included in the price and good.

Cons: It is quite dark in the room. Suggestion is to make refreshment of the walls and ceilings in the rooms. If there will be just some people in the hotel (I do not know how many should be or maybe this is only in the wintertime), but then breakfast will be served, so, it means no chances to choose what you want to eat in the morning. Luckily we were from Saturday to Sunday with lots of guests.

Pros: We loved breakfast, it was fantastic! Also we loved that the staff was truly helpful and wonderful with all tips for mountain hikes and must see places.

Comfortable stay in a quiet village on-route to the Jotunheimen National Park

Pros: Nice location by the fjord. Breakfast was excellent and served in a nice patio. We had a very good dinner too. A well-stocked supermarket acrosss the road

Cons: A kettle in all the rooms would be nice.
