Super stay in an excellent location for visiting Bergen

Pros: The location is excellent. Super convenient for sightseeing, shopping and access to restaurants and public transport. We liked the layout of our family room - very spacious, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. Liked the fika in the afternoon.

Cons: The beds weren’t super comfortable and some of the areas around the hotel looked in need of renovation. We had to ask for our room to be cleaned (it was cleaned just once in our 5 night stay).

Great convenient hotel

Pros: Great location and lovely staff. Breakfast was delicious and varied. Dinner good. And loved the fika at tea time and tea/coffee available at all times. Large family room fitted the 5 of us fine which is also generally hard to find.

Cons: Separate room within the family room was very dark and stuffy, no ceiling light so tricky finding things! Sadly didn’t get to have proper breakfast on last day as had early flight, they supplied packed breakfast/lunch which was helpful but wasn’t the best compared to what was available at breakfast.

Excellent hotel, would recommend.

Pros: Excellent location, the staff are very helpful. We stayed in the family room which was large enough for us and our teenage son.

Cons: The pillows were not very supportive.

It is close to the funicular, the tram to the airport and walk to the Hurtigruten Terminal, shops and fish market

Pros: We loved everything about this hotel! The comfortable, warm cosy room, the caring staff, the handy location, the plentiful food and Fika.

We very much enjoyed the stay, slept well and enjoyed the food. Thank you.

Pros: Location, ambiance, warm welcome, decor, breakfast selection, tasty dinner included.

Cons: The bedroom could have been improved (from its already high standard) by the installation of a bit more light. It was not possible to read etc if sitting at the desk or in the chair. We would have appreciated some specific instruction about the procedure at mealtimes; no-one told us where to go, that we needed to help ourselves (not that we minded doing this!) and whether we should clear the tables etc. We had to observe and follow other guests. Home Hotel Bryggen was like the cross between a posh hotel and a Youth Hostel! It was charming!

Lovely hotel in a great location.

Pros: Super location, helpful staff, beautiful building and very nice room.

Cons: The restaurant was being renovated which was unfortunate for us, but looks like it will be lovely when completed (prob ate Feb ‘26). Dinner was very basic but may be better when the renovations are complete.
