Marvellous, for sure will return

Pros: Very good location, marvellous service from the reception (special thanks to Kartika & Celine), room is very comfortable and we got upgraded

Cons: Nothing that I don’t like especially with the reception staff they have

Short leisure trip

Pros: Beautiful building, great location and size of room was big (we were in a Deluxe room). Shower was massive! The breakfast staff were so friendly, super attentive and smiley, lovely start to the day.

Cons: Despite advertising Molton Brown toiletries, they weren’t in the rooms, looked like a local brand instead and not quite as nice… The blonde woman on the front desk could do with a course on customer service. Not only did she get the final bill wrong despite me telling her the additions but when I went back to correct it, there was no apology, or even a smile. For a so called Small Leading Hotel of the world, I’d expect better service. Turndown service was also very basic.

Beautiful, characterful hotel.

Pros: Beautiful, historic and characterful hotel in a pretty location, close to the wharf. We spent a week in Bergen over winter, and it was conveniently located for lots of sightseeing. The hotel overall was cosy and comfortable with reasonable morning breakfasts.

Cons: I couldn't really fault anything. We had a wonderful stay.

Wonderful Hotel

Pros: First of all, the hotel’s location is excellent, as it is close to everything, and most tourist attractions were within walking distance. The area around the hotel is very safe, and I literally did not need to use my car at all. On the other hand, the staff were extremely polite, friendly, and helpful. Personally, I would definitely repeat this experience at this beautiful hotel. It was an unforgettable stay. The hotel is beautiful, quiet, well-organized, and has a wonderful classic old-style charm. The breakfast experience was also excellent due to the wide variety of options and the high quality of service.

Cons: In fact, there were only two situations that somewhat affected my stay at this hotel. The first situation: Upon my arrival at the hotel, I asked them to park my rental car using the valet service. However, the receptionist informed me that the valet staff would not start their shift for another three hours. As a result, I had to park the car myself in the parking facility used by the hotel, which is located about 1 km away. I had to go there to park the car and then return to the hotel using Uber at my own expense. At check-out, it took them around half an hour to bring the car back, which I consider a very long time. I was also surprised that the hotel charges 300 Norwegian kroner each time you request the car, in addition to the parking fee, which can reach 500 Norwegian kroner per day. I believe that for a 5-star hotel, it would have been more appropriate to provide a shuttle service running back and forth, while keeping the parking fee at 500 Norwegian kroner per day. This is merely a suggestion, as the hotel is classified as a 5-star property. I fully understand that the hotel is located almost in the city center and that finding parking is very difficult; however, it is not the guest’s or tourist’s fault that the parking facility is 1 km away from the hotel. The second situation: When I entered the room upon check-in, I found it to be extremely hot. When I contacted the reception via WhatsApp, they advised me to lower the room temperature using the control unit, which, from my perspective, was merely a decorative control panel with no real effect. Eventually, the receptionist suggested that I open the windows to cool the room down, even though the temperature outside was -9°C. I had to open the windows to cool the room, and while doing so, I personally discovered that there was a heater behind the curtain, set to the highest temperature. I turned it off myself, and after that, everything was fine.

Perfect location, beautiful hotel

Pros: Fine and charming hotel, with a luxurious feeling beautifully decorated for Christmas. Very comfortable, excelent location, delicious breakfast. Room and bathroom were very clean, not only in the morning, but when we left for dinner, our room was always cleaned again and things rearranged for a good night sleep.

Cons: There was 1 night with a Christmas party in the hotel restaurant and they played very loud music until 1am, which prevent us to sleep. They should at least have warned us that it would happen.

Luxury Hotel with perfect staff, rooms and location!

Pros: Everything!!!! I was instantly relaxed and taken care of the minute we walked in
