Pros: The owner is very personable and ready to answer questions or just chat. The hotel is a bit like a bed and breakfast, very cozy and relaxed vibe. It also has its own little bathing spot on the water, and really a very nice stay at a locally-owned small hotel.

Cons: The pillow and mattress were a little old and sheets moved very easily off the mattress so it could be folded and secured to better cover the mattress.

Pros: - central location near the church - clean - quite - WIFI - parking if you arrived in a small car

Cons: - breakfast could be better compared to other Norway hotels - parking could be a challenge and fully occupied

Beautiful stay in a lovely village

Pros: Beautiful view over the fjord. Helpful staff. Great hiking from the door. Centrally located.

Cons: It would’ve been nice to have a kettle in the room, although hot water was available from a machine in reception.

Pros: The owner was the most charming and helpful gentleman. Decor is quirky and interesting. View from the hotel is magnificent.

Cons: Water in the fjord was too cold to swim!

Pros: I loved the private fjord jetty for swimming and sun bathing right opposite the hotel. It looked like it had been recently updated and the garden was well maintained. The hotel is in a great location in Balestrand - overlooking the fjord and less than a 5 minute walk from the boat dock and the shops. The breakfast is excellent with a wide selection of savoury and sweet options including eggs, smoked salmon, cured meats and yogurts.

Cons: The room was quite hot at night as the window didn’t stay open so I would have appreciated a sheet for the bed.

The inn and inn keeper made for a perfect stay in Balestrand.

Pros: It was a wonderful experience. Balestrand is a lovely town and this inn is a perfect complement. The inn keeper couldn’t have been nicer and he went out of his way to make us feel welcomed.
