Wonderful historical hotel

Pros: The staff are wonderful. Mia was lovely and we enjoyed chatting with her (made it feel like you were gating with friends). The dinner was delicious and the breakfast was fantastic. Daily housekeeping with towels great. We also made use of the laundry room which was nice as no other hotels in the area seem to offer this service.

Cons: We booked two rooms, a single and the suite as we had our toddler with us. The room was extremely loud with traffic going by, as right outside a truck stop, not ideal. My mother’s room which was on the other side of the house was quiet (not on the road side). Maybe something to keep in mind if sensitive to noise.

Nice historical hotel with great kitchen. Starting point for trips from Stryn into the region.

Pros: A very nice historical hotel, with very friendly staff, and an excellent kitchen. Very practical car park right at the hotel.

Cons: Location is right in front of a very busy road, with a view on a lorry car park.

A house away from home.

Pros: We stayed in a self-catering cottage next to the hotel . The cottage was well equipped, clean, and there was lots of space. We have a 3 week trip, and sometimes you want to eat your own choice of food. There was a supermarket nearby what was really nice.

Pros: The kindness of the staff. Decoration and wonderful food.

Pros: Exceptional service and the historical significance of the hotel. Our room was very comfortable, clean and quiet with a fantastic view. The restaurant was very good with excellent food and service, our waiter was very friendly and informative of the hotel’s history and the local area.

Cons: Nothing, everything was good.

Pros: Lovely historic hotel with original features. Room was very comfortable. Excellent breakfast. Did not have evening meal as decided to walk into Stryn.

Cons: Outlook from hotel is onto a transport business, some lorry movements during the night. There isn't anything the hotel owners can do about this though.

Pros: Our stay at Visnes Hotel Stryn felt like a peaceful journey back in time. The hotel has a cozy and bright atmosphere that reminded me of staying at my grandmother’s house – warm, welcoming, and full of charm. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable. We arrived very early due to our bus schedule, and the staff kindly let us leave our luggage even before check-in time, which was a big help as it was raining and nothing nearby was open. The staff was incredibly kind and thoughtful throughout our stay. Highly recommended for those who love nature and authentic Norwegian charm.

Cons: If I could wish for one thing, it would be a bit more variety at breakfast — but overall, it was a lovely and heartwarming stay.
