This one certainly beckons for another - longer- visit😁

Pros: Magnificent location. Friendly, efficient, helpful staff and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Room was clean and bed very comfortable with decor that is functional and minimalist. Loved the amazing window seat!!! Food was exceptional in flavour and presentation - fresh and especially appreciated the extra touches from the on ground garden. Dining room with the panoramic view of the mountains and water is picture- perfect and the wood burning fire adds to the ambience

Great place to stay and eat.

Pros: This hotel is in a quiet village and sits in its own grounds above village. There’s an interesting story behind the hotel involving hydro power. Check in was easy once a receptionist was found. My room was lovely and comfortable with great views over the local fjord. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a brilliant restaurant with excellent food, definitely worth trying. It’s not a huge hotel and very minimalist. Also a nice quiet village to go for a walk.

When there, take the dinner!

Pros: Some really nice design details such as the fireplace in the restaurant and some of the chairs. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was very good. Recommend that if you stay here, do take the dinner. It is a set menu and starts at 19:30.

Cons: Rooms are small and the bathroom could be better. For breakfast there is no buffet and no choice. Everyone gets a plate with a little bit of egg, cheese, ham and fruit. That’s is☹️

Surreal and stunning building and location

Pros: This is a unique hotel for its building structure; it is an excellent example of brutalist architecture repurposed. The views from the dining room are just like you see in tourist brochures except these views don't need to be enhanced or filtered. What your eyes see is just unfiltered and beautiful landscapes that will live long in the memory. The hosts and waiting staff are attentive but not intrusive. The food is excellent too. If you do eat at the restaurant then be aware there is one sitting time and the menu is fixed each day so all guests eat together. You can choose how many courses you want to eat. This is all published on the hotel website. The food and its presentation will not disappoint. If you want to you can order a flight of wines to accompany each meal. If you want an experience to live in your memories then this hotel will tick those boxes very well.

Cons: Unfortunately the sauna was out of order. Rooms were a little basic. Understand that minimalism is the goal, however the tv in the room, if it is there, it should work. A bin in the room would also be nice.

Exceptional experience!

Pros: This is a unique building in a unique and very beautiful location. The 3-course dinner which is optional is of very high quality and delicious! The view is to die for! Free parking and cheap electrical charging.

Cons: Bathroom was too small without room to put your toiletried. There was no cupboard for clothes nor any other place to put clothes apart from a hanging rack which was too high to reach (even for tall people). Breakfast is served at your table on a plate. Everyone gets the same. It is very nicely presented but gives you no choice to pick what you like. E.g. I prefer apple juice and everyone gets orange. I prefer a hartier breakfast (no fruit, sweet stuff) whereas my husband likes pastries, waffles, etc. You get asked about allergies but not about preferences.

A real hidden gem. Fantastic

Pros: The welcome, the room, the staff, the food, all exceptional. The view from all the rooms is spectacular. We have never stayed anywhere with such a view of lakes and mountains. It is like Lake Como in Italy. Sit in the restaurant with fantastic food and wine and just soak up the scenery.

Cons: We should have stayed longer!!!!
