Skånevik Fjordhotel

Pros: Super location. An older hotel in need of some TLC but well cared for. Good pizza.

Nice hotel off the beaten track.

Pros: The hotel was nice, staff very welcoming and Skanevik was a nice little village, perhaps a bit off the tourist trail but that adds to the charm of the place. Home cooked food was very good and traditionally Norwegian, especially the kumle!

Cons: Hotel was a little bit dated and could do with some modernising. However it was clean and comfortable and ideal for a short stay.

Potential for much more, could use some repairs

Pros: Great location with good sized rooms, spacious lounge and activity rooms such as library. Bikes to use and other extras. Been here for the second time.

Cons: Repairs and maintainance needed. Otherwise, price is probably too high.

Pros: The lady that serves the food is very nice, and has a really bright and welcoming attitude. She makes lovely eggs and bacon! :)

Pros: Great breakfast, good location near to the port. We have a very good room.

This place deserves your visit!

Pros: We booked last minute! Of course this place is deserted 2 days before the new year… but what a coincidence we managed again to find a place which is much more than a hotel! Inger Karin, the owner, has such a beautiful soul, great values and making dreams of young people come true! Sharing is Caring… you should go and check yourself!

Pros: friendliest welcome of our trip so far by the host! Hotel is a little dated in places but rooms were lovely and comfortable and had a fridge (bonus!). pretty little town on the edge of the fjord. hotel is a stones throw from the waters edge and the ferry terminal. out of season so only a couple of options for dinner - homemade meatballs or fish cakes, but huge portions! breakfast was included and bacon and eggs cooked especially for us, along with the usual continental options.

Cons: appears to be used by road workmen during the off season, which is fine, except their big work trucks were parked outside our window blocking our view of the fjord (though I didn’t hear them return at 7am.

All the little things get forgotten, when you feel as welcome as we did in this hotel!

Cons: The building is really old (there is no doubt when you walk in) and could use a hand of handyman ;-)
