This family-run hostel lies by Lake Vangsvatnet, 1 km from the village of Voss. It has a TV lounge and a communal kitchen. Free WiFi is available in common areas. All rooms at Voss Hostel have private bathroom facilities. Most rooms offer views of the surrounding nature and some rooms feature lake views. Pros: Probably the best hostel in Norway. Comfortable and spotless, it’s perfectly located right next to the Voss lake and within easy walking distance of the town center. From the moment you arrive, you feel welcome. The facilities are well maintained and inviting, the staff genuinely kind and helpful, and the breakfast is rich, varied, and beautifully presented. One of my favorite moments was sitting in the cozy common area by the fireplace on a winter evening, reading while the world outside felt quiet and still — pure Scandinavian hygge.

Pros: Really enjoyed our stay here. Very helpful staff, lovely sauna, great views of lake from room, super wood fire in lounge arwa, yummy breakfast.

Cons: Our daughter was in the top bunk and it was a bit squeaky eveyy time she moved. Kept us awake. Only there for one night and if zi had mentioned it then staff would have helped to fix this.

Lovely Hostel in Voss, Don't Forget Your Earbuds

Pros: Great location, a short walk from downtown Voss. Room was comfortable and staff were very helpful, even keeping the kitchen open so I could have dinner after a late arrival. Breakfast is excellent and the facilities are comprehensive for the freewheeling backpacker

Cons: The soundproofing is appalling and the bratty screaming teenagers came through loud & clear as a result. Advertising rooms as private when there is literally no escaping the neighbours seems a little much

Amazing breakfast, no brainer for a one-night stay.

Pros: Best breakfast I have seen in a hostel. Although I eat everything, I was positively surprised by the selection for vegetarian, vegan, and gluten-free food. Also, almost everything is organic.
