Gudvangen Budget Hotel

Picturesque, calm and perfect for a night’s get away.

Pros: We arrived after a days travel from Oslo, we loved the remoteness of the hotel and in winter season it was very quiet- just what we wanted. The chalet room was perfect with modern fixtures and a large comfortable bed.

Cons: Not much to be honest, a perfect stay for one night.

Pros: It is right away at the cruise drop off point and v nice behaviour

Lovely village stay

Pros: The 1st-floor room was clean and had a balcony with a view of the village and mountains behind. The shared bathrooms were clean. It was an easy walk to the restaurants, the Viking village, the pier where we got off the boat, and the bus stop on the highway to get the bus to Bergen. The message sent to us advised us to pick the key uo from a place prior to reaching the actual accommodation.

Pros: I had booked two nights at the Budget Hotel, but was able to switch to a double room in the more modern Fjordtell close to the Fjord. I did not pay much on top and then staff was very friendly :)

Comfortable and Enjoyable Stay

Pros: A lovely place. Shower was roomy and had plenty of hot water Room was comfortable Had washing machine and dryer Even though a small town there were 3 places to eat

Cons: Reception was hard to find During the day Gudavagen to soooo busy

Fantastic overnight stay!

Pros: The location and views were magnificent. The lady on reception was very friendly and helpful. We were a little anxious about sharing a bathroom, but it was very well planned. There were 3 lovely big individual shower rooms with a separate changing area. The toilets were separate. It was super clean, and the beds were really comfortable. Gudvangen is worth the stay. The Viking Valley is very interesting if you're genuinely interested in Viking history. Once the coaches have left, Gudvangen becomes really peaceful. We had a fantastic pizza sitting outside by the fjord at the bakery in the evening. They also do amazing pastries for breakfast. I think the hotel does itself a disservice by the name budget hotel and may put people off staying.

Amazing location.

Pros: Location. VIews. Free lockage storage with voucher. Near viking mueseum abd boat cruse to flam

Cons: Poor signage to help u know where to go to check in. Soft matress. No personal bathroom. Non matching lamps felt cheap maybee I could of bought some for them from glass olsen instead of buyijng a beer. Was super clean and ok for one night.

Pros: The surroundings are very nice. The atmosphere is amazing and easy walk. Jamila was very helpful.

Cons: The matrass was a little bit uncomfortable.

Pros: A hotel with an old world feel but with totally modern bathroom facilities. The receptionist was very friendly and helpful. Gudvangen is a beautiful spot with a good supermarket, café and restaurant. The bus stop is right at the town.

Pros: Fantastic! Super close to everything. Definitely not your average budget hotel. Extremely clean and great facilities!
