Sundvolden Hotel

Pros: Gorgeous location, right by the fjord and with a quiet garden at the back. Food store next to it, very convenient.

Cons: We had dinner at the hotel restaurant. The dining area is very atmospheric and the food tasted very good, but they were out of several items, and not very generous on some portions.

Cosy and charming hotel with historic features without the musty smell!

Pros: Clean an charming hotel with great food! The spa might be small, but it is very cosy. The rooms (and hallways!) smell fresh and clean. Lovely old-fashioned furniture in the room incl books from back in the days. Restaurant food was both for dinner and breakfast amazing. High quality ingredients!

Cons: Spa is very very basic Food & drinks expensive (192nok for a cocktail..)

Pros: I'm not a fan of big hotels, but I like the way I was treated by the staff - as a person, not just another guest. An example: When I mentioned to receptionist that I thought it was nice they did not tear down the old hotel, when they put up all the new buildings, he lent me a book about the history of the hotel and the surroundings. Great!

Pros: Beautiful hotel with great history. Breakfast was very tasty with big variety of food, including awsome scandinavian herings. Big parking close to hotel. Supermarket 100 meters from hotel. Very nice garden with some sport equipment for play.

Pros: What make sandvolde a place you want to stay , are specialy the great people who work there. In my case I was injured, and they did literally everything that to help me. Especially merlys who was a real angel. The room was great also the breakfast. But the people where outstanding.

Pros: Peaceful place, friendly service and tasty food. Free parking. Views to the lake.

Cons: Need to pay extra for additional activities like spa and bike.

Hotel great, restaurant service need improvement

Pros: The place, location, cleanliness, facilities, breakfast and everything was great. Staff in the reception also super nice and helpful. However, restaurant service needs improvement.

Cons: Restaurant service needs improvement. I waited a long time to order sth in the evening, but there wasn't busy, and I felt like I was ignored by the waitress - I had to bring the menu myself, because nobody apprioched me for over 10 minutes and even after informing her that I'd be sitting there, she was passing by a few times after that to other guests, and I was like the air for her. Also, I was travelling with the dog, which is allowed by the hotel, but the dog is not allowed inside the restaurant. That's fine, but I had a breakfast included in the room and I was left with the problem on my own. I expected a little bit of help or satisfactory solution, but they didn't even care. I ended up with running from the restaurant to the garden a few times with food, which was a bit annoying.

Great hotel in a lovely location and with helpful staff!

Pros: Beautiful hotel in a lovely location, reasonably spacious rooms and very comfortable beds. Breakfast was quite good with reasonable number of vegetarian options. Quite helpful staff.

Cons: This is not really a negative. Probably just a strange coincidence and unsure what to make of it :), but this was the 3rd consecutive hotel in the Nordics which we had booked couple of months ahead in time, and where we ended up getting corner rooms exactly at the end of longish corridors!! Fourth time lucky? Let's see!! :)

Great hotel

Pros: This is a wonderful hotel. It’s clean, the room was spacious, the food at breakfast and dinner was delicious, the staff were friendly, the view from the room was wonderful. Warmly recommend.
