Staying at Runde

Pros: The place felt a bit like a youth hostel in the off-season. Then again, May probably still is off-season here 😀 Anyway, Runde is a very special place. It has no restaurants we could find and the eatery in the Gjestehus was not operating yet, so we brought our own food. The host was very friendly, relaxed, and helpful and told us to make use of the kitchen, plates, cutlery, fridge, etcetera, so that worked out well. The place looks a bit run-down if you only look at the painting and the window frames, but everything works and is clean enough. The decoration inside the Gjestehus is beautiful; lots of old seafaring and fishing gear, a small boat, lots of pictures, books, spaces to sit, etcetera. Really nice! The island itself is beautiful and a must-visit IMHO.

Pros: I was there to see the puffins and this location is very convenient to my final destination. It is about 15mins walk to the start of the hiking trail. Staff is friendly and helpful. Via public transport, there are only 2 trips a day to access this place. I took the earlier bus and reached alot earlier than my check-in time. Even so, the room was already prepared and I was able to have a early check-in and some rest before my hike in the evening. The room was also clean and there was a common kitchen in another room for guests to use.

Cons: It was stated that dinner could be ordered in advance which was important as the whole island had only 2 restaurants - at this accommodation and at the environmental center. However, I was informed upon checking in that the chef had resigned months ago so dinner could not be provided. This information was not previously communicated in the listing. Hence, I had to walk to the environmental center for my meals while I was there.

Pros: The location was excellent for going birdwatching. Beautiful sea view from the room.

Just amazing

Pros: This was just an amazing stay. The room was very big, clean and with an amazinh view. The staff was very friendly and kind. The location on the island is great for exploring - round trip to the lighthouse and bird cliff takes about 4 hours. The parking is very big so you have more than enough space for a car. We also loved that our room had a mini fridge so we were able to store all our food and drinks.

Cons: The only thing missing was a shampoo but we had one with us so this wasn't an issue for us.

Great place to stay in Runde

Pros: Great place to stay. Comfortable beds, common area was really nice. Views are excellent and staff friendly. Short drive to parking to see Puffins which were fantastic and loved the back terrace where we watched the sun go down.

Convenient place to stay in Runde

Pros: The best thing about this place is its location as it's the closest place to stay to the start of the hiking trails in Runde, if you don't count with the camping park. The rooms are nice, but the bathrooms are a bit old and fell like you go inside a cave. Like a damp cave which doesn't really dry. There is a small kitchen and sitting area close to the rooms where you can store food and cook something, which is a must in Runde, as there aren't alternatives and even if there were, the prices would be crazy high.

Cons: The bathrooms aren't that nice. Wet and uncomfortable. There isn't that much interaction with the staff, as they only come around 9 am and leave in the afternoon I guess. You need to pre-order breakfast and even if we didn't ate it, we saw it comes in a plastic box. Like most things in Norway, this hotel is a bit too expensive for what you are offered.

Pros: Clean and comfortable room, on great location, and beautiful views from the restaurant.

Cons: Everything was fine!

A great place to stay if you are hiking

Pros: The view from the restaurant and the terrace. The facilities,the breakfast nd the comfortable bed

Pros: The area is fantastic, the nature and sea side! Hotel is well equipped; staff is very helpful.

All was great!

Pros: The hotel is recommendable and the staff friendly and courteous!
