Trollbu Aabrekk gard

Perfect!

Pros: Everything! Our stay at Trollbu Aabrekk gard was just perfect! We loved it and enjoyed our stay so so much! Would definitely recommend it! The typical Norwegian wood house is so beautiful and really big, it has four beds inside, perfect for a family, a bathroom with shower, a kitchen and a living room with a lot of space.

Pros: We arrived late in the evening so it was dark out, but what a pleasant surprise when we looked out of the window in the morning. We were there in September and it was really quiet everywhere. The apartment has got all you need, we were even able to cook a quick breakfast. It is clean and relatively spacious.

Great stay

Pros: Very nice cabin, with everything you need. Location is amazing, located to some beautiful easy hikes. Communication was clear. Would definitely go again.

Pros: Stunning Location: The view of the glacier from the cabin is absolutely incredible. It's the perfect backdrop for a mountain getaway. Clean & Spacious: The cabin itself was very clean and offered plenty of space for us to relax comfortably. Convenient Facilities: While the facilities were basic, they had everything we needed for our stay. The free on-site parking was a huge plus. Perfect for Hikers: It served as an ideal base for our glacier hikes, with easy access to the trails.

Cons: Poor Temperature Control: The cabin was difficult to keep at a comfortable temperature. The loft area, in particular, gets very warm and has no windows or vents for ventilation. Tricky Loft Access: The stairs to the sleeping loft are steep and slippery, making it feel unsafe and unsuitable for children or anyone with mobility concerns, especially if you need to use the toilet (down stairs) at night. The ceiling in the loft is also very low. Faulty Alarm: We were woken up at 2 a.m. by the ceiling alarm, which went off for no discernible reason.

Pros: The room, surrounding nature and view are all excellent. The remote location is perfect. The river is 20 meters from the apartment.

Pros: Very cosy old hytte in a spectacular location. Excellent modern bathroom. A trip to Briksdalsbreen glacier is highly recommended.

Pros: It was easy to find and gain access, even after 8pm. Staff were helpful and responsive. Small, well-equipped kitchen for preparing an evening meal and seating area to read in. Renovated to a high standard and plenty of bedding available. Excellent shower.

Cons: The cooking plates had to be moved near a plug and were high (imagine on top of a micro-wave) which could be difficult for a small person. Unless I was missing something! Has low beams (we were in the attic, no 4) which limited actual walking space and could be a problem for a very tall person.

Pros: The situation, surroundings and views are wonderfull

Cons: The stair to the first floor to access the hytte could be more comfortable. The kitchen is absolutely basic.

Pros: Nice cabin, has everything we needed. Beautiful area. One thing to note: the ceilings in the sleeping areas are quite low, which might be an issue for some people. It wasn't a big problem for us, but it's something to keep in mind.
