Barfot Apartments

Pros: We enjoyed our stay in Barfot Apartments. The apartment was spotlessly clean, nicely decorated and we enjoyed living like locals.

Cons: There is a very steep, but short, spiral staircase leading to the apartment. Hard work with heavy suitcases for older people. If you are travelling with backpacks it would present no problems!

Perfect

Pros: Ideal location and lovely comfortable apartment. In the heart of the city close to restaurants, places to visit, university, museum etc. 15 mins walk from train station and approximately 12-15 mins walk to the harbour. The apartments are in an large town house up a small hill. Bergen is hilly! We stayed in the ground floor apartment which was so toasty and warm and comfortable. The temperature is totally adjustable in all rooms which enables you to get it just right for you. The bed was comfy, cooking facilities were good and suited our needs with full oven (no microwave), big fridge/freezer, nice big TV, shower was good and lots of hot water so all good. Washing machine too.

Cons: Having to make your own bed - come on! I don't want to have to make my own bed when I have just travelled miles to get somewhere and I am on my holiday. I don't mind stripping my bed when I am leaving but don't want to have to make it when I arrive. Just a simple change can make a difference! No parking - we had a car for a couple of days and parking is an issue with parking attendants vigilantly giving out tickets. The streets have limited markings but parking is for residents only.

Great apartment in Bergen

Pros: Great location. Very clean and comfortable. Great communication.

Cons: The stairs to the apartment are steep, but this was made known to us beforehand, just in case it was going to be a problem.

Pros: The cleanliness and comfort of the unit. Excellent location within walking distance from the main attractions.

Pros: Being 10-15 minutes walk from Hurtigruten terminal, Bryggen and the airport light rail was very convenient. The living area, kitchen and bathroom were quite functional but it was a real hassle being required to completely make the confined double bed and, even more so, stripping all bed linen before an early morning departure. The hosts' communication was clear and timely.

Cons: It is very inconvenient to get in & out of a double bed sandwiched between 2 walls. That also means it's a very hard bed for guests to prepare to sleep in. (Is that why the owners don't provide that service?)

Great stay in the heart of Bergen

Pros: Excellent value for money Great style of apartment Good set up Great location Quiet

Cons: Having to make own beds and the bed was more of a sofa bed that the sheet did not quite fit (however was comfy). Some aspects could be cleaner, but for value for money in Bergen this was great!

Bergen weekend.

Pros: The flat was comfortable and had a personal touch in its decoration so felt more homely than other places we have stayed. The kitchen was well equipped. Communication before arrival was clear and helpful. The location worked well for us, being a short walk from shops and all the local sites of interest.

Cons: We arrived tired and quite late so having to make the bed up on arrival was a bit frustrating. I have a mobility issue and the heavy outward opening front door over the steep front steps was a challenge. Perhaps mentioning this on the booking page would be helpful.

Great location

Pros: Very close to all attractions. Easy check in and check out process, great communication. Well equipped.

Pros: The apartment is good located in the district where you find a lot of beautiful Norwegian style houses. It is a walking distance to the center, bus / train stations, etc. The place is quite small but has all you need (no microwave oven and toaster). We had no comments to the cleanliness.

Cons: The bed was too soft and we had to put on and off the linen (as per request of the host), which is quite unusual.

Perfect for a ywo night stay

Pros: Clean , good shower, good location. Kitchen well equipped.
